Louis XV Style Slant-Leg Desk with Floral Marquetry and Gilt Bronze - 19th Century. Charming Louis XV style slant-leaf desk, inlaid with precious woods, a French piece from the late 19th century. It rests on four cabriole legs ending in gilt bronze sabots, and features a curved front richly adorned with chased bronze mounts. The slant-leaf front is decorated with an elegant central panel of floral marquetry on a dark background, framed by foliate scrolls. The interior reveals a leather-lined writing surface, opening to reveal two drawers and a central compartment. Very good overall condition, with wear consistent with age. The marquetry is fresh, and the bronze mounts are well preserved.
