"Early 20th Century Terracotta Basin With Pedestal"
Elegant, finely decorated Signa terracotta basin with pedestal. The piece features a tall, two-piece column pedestal with a molded base and classical Pompeian-style decorations, such as ovules, rosettes, vases, and floral motifs. The basin, which also features classical decorations, is elliptical in shape, with the short sides characterized by protruding leaves, while the long sides feature scenes with dancing figures and cherubs, reminiscent of depictions found on classical sarcophagi. This basin, of great taste and refinement, can be used as a planter, thanks to the drainage holes, or as a decorative object, capable of furnishing any space with class and elegance. Florentine manufacture, early 20th century.
