Mid-19th Century Louis XV Drop-down Chest Of Drawers With Inlays
Refined and sumptuous drop-down chest of drawers, of considerable size, entirely veneered in walnut burl and featuring fruitwood inlays. The inlays feature geometric panels on each side of the chest, highlighting its shape and beautiful proportions. The chest of drawers features a curved shape on the front and sides, adding further refinement, and bracket feet. The front features three drawers, which open with locks and handles in lost-wax cast and gilded bronze, ergonomically designed for storing objects. On the sides, there are two doors that open onto three additional shelves. The top also folds down, containing four small drawers; a further notable feature is that when the drawers are removed, four secret/hidden drawers are revealed on the sides. This piece of furniture is crafted with extreme mastery and elegance, as can be seen in the attention to detail and individual elements, such as the use of olive wood nails. This chest of drawers adds a touch of class, refinement, and antique charm to any room. Roman manufacture from the Louis XV period, around the mid-19th century.
