Marquetry Desk
Lovely little desk in Louis XV style marquetry from the Napoleon III period with a flap. Model also called slope desk or donkey bone desk. Very pretty marquetry star pattern. Ornamentation of small gilded and chiseled bronzes. Furniture often used in the past by women to write their letters or intimate letters.
Note inside a zipper leaves room for a secret hiding place.
