Empire Period Gilt Bronze Clock

Gilded bronze clock depicting Cupid sharpening his arrow or l'Amour rémouleur.
He uses his leg to operate an attractive table grinder with an eagle-headed base set on a cube enclosing the enamel dial movement signed Jeannin in Paris.
On either side are two tables, one with a quiver base, the other with an X-shaped base with lion paws and draperies.
The molded, projecting base is decorated in the center with a love and dog symbolizing fidelity framed by vases of flowers.
On the sides, snakes drink from winged vases.
The set rests on six chased turned feet.
Empire period.
Good condition, revised movement in working order.
Unusual model, fine quality.
The dial signed Jeannin in Paris has a few scratches and a chip at the winding hole.
