Empire Period Mahogany Sofa Attributed To P. Marcion
A beautiful two-seater sofa in mahogany and mahogany veneer.
The straight, molded upper rail rests on saber legs at the rear.
The mahogany armrests, upholstered towards the front, terminate in a molded, scrolled finial decorated with a lotus flower on each side.
The front legs, round and tapered, are decorated at the top with large palmettes and small rings, and with festoons at the level of the rails, ending in small palmettes on hemispheres.
The central leg is identical to the upper and rear legs.
Empire period.
In very good condition, newly reupholstered, with a reversible cushion.
Due to its quality of workmanship, this sofa can be attributed to Marcion or Demay.
