18th Century Martin Varnish Scent Box
Rare small varnished scent box by the Martin brothers from the 18th century.
The top is decorated with two figures in a landscape, the edges are decorated in green and gold aventurine.
The sides are decorated with landscapes with the edges also in aventurine.
The edges are worn as the grip of this small box is made by the edges, the top has a stain certainly
due to a bottle that leaked.
The interior is complete with its four flasks, their stoppers and chains, the cup, the funnel and the timbale.
The set is hallmarked with a countermark between 1775 and 1781.
Original mirror and soirie as well as the key, hinges, keyhole and lid catch.
Late Louis XV period
Used condition but rare in this material.
