Pair of pewter liturgical BURETTES of baluster form with horizontal foot, flared throat and palmette poucier with five spokes
Marked by Jean Antoine SERGENT, received master in 1742: crowned hammer / I.S / A. (The A here serves double duty, as both the initial of the master's middle name and the initial of the town).
Letters A and V stamped for Aqua and Vino.
Height: 11.2 cm.
AUIXERRE, Mid 18th c
Rarissime, most likely the only finding of this type of object for this Burgundian center.
Scratches on the bottom of the handle.
Punch found on a pitcher from the former Daniel ALIX collection.
