Pewter milk jug, locally called a "Dourne," ovoid in shape with a quarter-round foot, cylindrical neck, and curved spout with a rolled end. It has a hinged, semi-circular lid and a fixed, vertical, molded handle.
Hallmarks:
1° - Control mark applied twice: crowned FF / DE LYON / 1748. This date was used after the date it indicates.
2° - Mark of Lazare Michel Pierre FAVRE, received as a master in 1749, applied twice: FIN / griffin holding a shield / LMP FAVRE. Height: 35 cm.
LYON, Second half of the 18th century.
In very good condition, perfectly and completely hallmarked, a small repair to the seal is noted at the base of the spout and a hinge has been reinforced.
