Made of embossed, engraved, and punched brass, it is decorated with the Bunch of Canaan.
This is an unusual iconographic theme that illustrates the Biblical episode following the flight from Egypt, a summary of which is as follows: The land of Canaan is a heritage long promised to Israel. It is located between the Jordan and the Mediterranean. The Hebrews, after a long journey, wish to settle there. Moses, on divine orders, then sent twelve of his men on reconnaissance. Arriving in the Escol Valley, they cut a vine branch with its bunch of grapes and carried it between two people using a pole... Here is the story they told Moses: "We went to the land where you sent us. It is truly a land flowing with milk and honey, and these are its fruits."
