Large Louis XIII - Louis XIV Style Writing Desk With Baluster Legs, 19th Century
Attractive Louis XIII - Louis XIV style writing table with a height well above the norm.
It rests on four baluster legs, linked by a very beautiful and original crotch surmounted by two tops, the whole resting on six small ball feet of slightly flattened shape.
The front of the waistband features a central drawer opening with an iron "goutelette" handle.
The top is embellished with molding all around.
This table was beautifully crafted in the second half of the 19th century, and has a beautiful patina.
We note traces of use, notably a few stains on the top, as well as recorking and a small lack on the crotch (see last photo) due to its age and use.
Dimensions:
Height: 79 cm
height under headband 66 cm
length 109 cm
depth 68 cm
