The interior sections of the central niche, intended for sitting and working, are decorated with flat-banded oak panels, as are the backs of the piece, since they were designed to be less visible.
The exterior sides of the cabinets are made of flat-banded walnut.
As this piece still reflects the influence of the Regency style, the crossbars are straight and Only the uprights are molded and carved from a single piece of wood.
The top is composed of two very fine walnut planks, with the edge molded in a slight chamfer.

The original patina has been preserved with a wax finish.
There are only a few minor restorations for use and minimal maintenance.
