Louis XIV Period Mazarin Desk Attributed To Pierre Gole

Large Mazarin desk from the Louis XIV period, opening with seven drawers on the front, resting on eight sheath legs joined by a spacer. It is composed of a rich decoration of floral marquetry, foliage, birds and butterflies on an ebony background. The flower marquetry is combined with pewter marquetry on the stiles and crosspieces. The leather top framed with marquetry. The construction of the furniture in fir and drawers in walnut. The quality of this piece of furniture brings us to the Gole stone attribution. Authorization to leave the territory issued by the Minister of Culture on 04/07/2006 Pierre Gole was born around 1620, in Bergen, Holland, and died on November 27, 1684, in Paris. He was cabinetmaker to King Louis XIV of France.
