Thetop, with its stepped design, features geometric motifs ofcircles and semicircles forming rosettes. It reveals threesmall drawers and a false drawer serving as a writing surface.
Thiselegant piece of substantial dimensions features atwisted base with eight columns and a crossbar made of solid Rio rosewood.A particularly rare and sought-after wood in the early18th century, found almost exclusively inveneers and very rarely in solid wood, given itsvery high cost and the difficulties involved in importing it.
