Louis XIV Walnut Writing Table, Late 17th/early 18th Century, Middle Desk, Console
Magnificent Louis XIV solid walnut writing table from the late 17th - early 18th century.
The table features a handsome four-legged faceted baluster base, linked by a faceted spacer with a spinning top in the center.
Each leg ends in a small, flattened, hexagonal ball.
The front of the waistband is fitted with a large transverse drawer.
The whole is topped by an overhanging top embellished with beautiful molding all around.
We would like to point out a few small stains on the top, a few restorations (drawer bottom changed) and a small missing ring on the spacer (see last photo), all entirely normal for its age and use.
Dimensions:
Height to top 69 cm
Height under headband 52 cm
Length 104 cm
Depth 64 cm
Postage upon request.
