Cavalry Officer's Saber Circa 1895, France Third Republic Ww1
Saber for a cavalry officer, signed by Coulaux in Klingenthal.
It is of the Third Republic period after 1882 -- circa 1895.
Superb straight blade 92 cm long, signed on the back "Coulaux & Cie Klingenthal".
Officer's brass frame with foliage decoration. Handle made of horn with twisted copper filigree.
Given the four-prong guard and the length of the blade, this is probably a private purchase for an officer of a dragoon regiment.
Polished steel scabbard with one suspendion ring of the 1882 type.
The sabre is sold with an officer's leather sword knot.
Very good overall condition.
Total length of saber: 110 cm.
