Wood carved in the round, silvered and partially gilded.
Richly animated axial structure, with openwork framing of the central theca, flanked by cherubs' heads (putti) and surmounted by a cross.
The remarkable quality of the sculpture, characterized by deeply recessed scrolls, fine modelling and harmonious composition, testifying to a workshop of the highest standard, should be emphasized.
Used condition, wear to gilding and silvering.
