Large St Clément Polychrome Earthenware Fox, After Kraner For Rosenthal, 1930-50s
Large polychrome glazed earthenware animal subject from the Manufacture de Saint-Clément, discernible stamp under the tail as well as "France" and number, old/vintage mid-twentieth century, circa 1930-1950. Expressive model of a fox, with a lively posture, based on a model by Karl Kraner for Rosenthal in the 20s and 30s. Quite an unusual subject and in a rarer polychrome hue than the usually monochrome art deco animal earthenware from the St. Clement manufacture.
Length 40cm, width 15cm, height 19.5cm. Very nice overall condition including two fine discreet scratches on the top of the front paw and on the flank at the back. Approx. 800gr, hollow body.
