Antique Tripod Vase, Opaline Glass, Glazed, 19th-20th Century, Victorian Style
Magnificent and rare tripod opaline glass vase, handcrafted, art glass, hand-blown and hand-modeled, antique, late 19th/early 20th century, in milky white opaline. The gadrooned body has a scalloped/gathered rim decorated with a transparent amber glass band, resting on three feet of the same color. Beautifully crafted. The front is decorated with a bird among branches and daisies, ears of wheat, etc. Enameled and gilded, in lovely shades of pink, brown, beige, yellow, and blue. In the style of Harrach, Bristol, or Fenton. 18cm high, 18cm wide/deep at the rim. Very good overall condition, with some wear to the gilding on the back and sides, discreet, and some slight wear to the gilding on the front as well. No cracks, however, the tip of one of the feet is broken, probably not significantly as it does not cause the vase to become misaligned when placed on a surface; it is quite discreet as the base of this foot appears to have been thin. Approximately 700g.
