Large Moroccan Vase/jar, Fez, Handmade Khabia Ceramic, 19th-20th Century, Cobalt
Magnificent and unusual, large vase or jar without a lid, Khabia, handcrafted ceramic/earthenware, hand-painted, Morocco, Fez. Antique, late 19th/early 20th century. Tall form with a narrow base and body, rounded top, and a short, narrow neck. White earthenware, hand-painted with very fine, stylized, traditional geometric and floral motifs in monochrome cobalt blue. Exquisite detail work. 31cm high, approximately 17cm in diameter at its widest point, 10cm at its narrowest. Very good condition, with four minor imperfections on the neck, possibly original (perhaps from a kiln support), slightly visible. Some minor manufacturing flaws, stains, bubbles, and a few discreet signs of wear at the base of the foot. Approximately 2.5-3kg.
