Oxblood-blood Glazed Stoneware Vase With Twisted Ribs, 20th-century Workshop Piece
A very beautiful small stoneware vase with a blood-red glaze in shades of grey/celadon, from a workshop of unknown origin, with Asian influences, dating from the mid-20th century, circa 1950-1970. It has a lovely, slender ovoid shape ending in a short neck with a flat lip, while the upper part of the body is decorated with slightly twisted vertical ribs. The craftsmanship is of very high quality, with a particularly fine and well-controlled clay body, approximately 3 to 4 mm thick. A stylized "M" or "W" mark is present under the base; identification is needed. The piece is likely from a La Borne pottery studio. It measures 18 cm in height and approximately 11 cm in maximum diameter. It is in very good overall condition, with no chips or cracks. It weighs approximately 450-500 grams.
