Alexandre Le Grand: Empire Gilt Bronze Clock. Wire Movement, 1823 Signed Honoré Pons.
Important gilt bronze in gilt bronze, in the style of the 1st part of the 19th century, dated 1823 and signed Pons. The subject features Alexander the Great mounted on his trusty horse Bucephalus. Structure in gilded bronze with brown patina at the top. The rectangular frame is adorned with a large medallion decorated with warrior attributes: spears, helmets, shields...resting on 2 lion paw feet. Alexander, in combat, holds his spear in his right hand and his shieldshield inin his left hand. Silver dial with Roman numerals. The "Parisien" movement is a "wire" movement, complete and working. Sounds the hours and half hours. Very well preserved with traces of wear on the sides.Very good presentation condition. The mechanism is signed "Pons "*, silver medal Paris, 1823.
