Large bronze clock with antique patina and Siena yellow marble. Depicting Sappho dressed in classical style, holding a lyre, one foot resting on the ruins of a column with an Ionic capital. The bronze is of very high quality and finely chased. Circa 1820. Large dimensions: height 60 cm, width 53 cm, depth 19 cm. Excellent condition. Complete movement in good condition with bell and pendulum. Tardy mentions a clockmaker named Fleschelle, established in the Passage des Panoramas in 1820.
