Crystal Box From Le Creusot With Chiseled Brass, Dating From The Reign Of Charles X
This exquisite rectangular box from the Charles X period (circa 1820–1830) is adorned with beautiful translucent Le Creusot crystal panels featuring a gadrooned design, creating a stunning refraction of light through its structure. The crystal is enhanced by a brass frame gilded with fine gold, delicately engraved with beaded friezes, garlands featuring geometric motifs, and a fine openwork border. The piece rests elegantly on four chiseled legs shaped like feline paws, while the interior retains its original silk lining as well as its push button in the form of a chiseled rosette, attesting to the refined craftsmanship of the great French bronze and crystal artisans during the Restoration.
A few chips in the crystal (no significant chips) and some wear on the silk upholstery.
