The Child And The Hare: A Gilded Bronze Pendulum Clock.
Romantic “mantel piece” clock from the Louis Philippe / Napoleon III period. Clock made of gilded bronze. The stepped case is decorated with stylized plant motifs and geometric motifs in the French Neo-Gothic style. It rests on two arched feet at the front. At the top, to the left of the dial, stands a young boy holding a young hare (rabbit) in his hand beneath his frock coat. In the center is the enameled dial with black roman numerals on a white background. French balance wheel movementwith wire suspension (comes with key): chimes the hours and half-hours for approximately 7 days. In good working condition. Slight traces of oxidation, but the original gilding is clearly visible and well-preserved. Hairs on the enameled dial (see photo). Very nice over all condition.
