Opaline Clock With Dolphins, First 19th Century.
Rare white opaline pendulum, gilded and chiseled bronze frame decorated with two entwined dolphins. Their tails support the spherical upper part in fluted white opaline which houses a gilt bronze dial with Roman numerals decorated with a frieze and a medallion of flowers. The dolphins lie on the oval body with vertical grooves. The whole rests on a gilded bronze base decorated with a frieze of palmettes supported by four claw feet. Revised wire suspension mechanism. Charles X period.(1820)
