The surface features a dense and organic composition of stylised vegetal motifs and flowing forms, approaching abstraction and echoing late 19th-century decorative vocabularies, somewhere between naturalism and early Art Nouveau.

The relief is created through a combination of carved wood and metal elements, designed to transfer the pattern through repeated inking. The piece reflects a refined level of craftsmanship, balancing technical precision with visual richness.

On the reverse, a partially legible handwritten inscription reads:
“Dessin B coin”, likely referring to a workshop or design reference.

Now repurposed as a wall-mounted decorative object, this matrix offers a striking presence, at the intersection of workshop tool and abstract composition.
The warm patina of the wood, contrasted with darker metal elements, gives it a strong, almost industrial yet highly contemporary character.
