Antique Vietnamese Solid Silver Tea Spoons Set Of 12 Nguyen Dynasty

A fine set of twelve antique Vietnamese solid silver teaspoons dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.

Each spoon features a distinctive handle formed as three stacked coin-shaped elements, finely decorated with the auspicious characters:

福 (Phúc / Fu) – Happiness, blessings
禄 (Lộc / Lu) – Wealth, official success
寿 (Thọ / Shou) – Longevity

This symbolic combination represents blessings, prosperity, and long life, and was widely used throughout East Asia as a powerful decorative and protective motif.

The coin-form handles further reinforce the symbolism of wealth and prosperity, reflecting traditional numismatic charm designs popular in Vietnam during the Nguyen dynasty and early French Indochina period.

The spoons are of elegant proportions with oval bowls and slender stems, entirely handmade with subtle variations that attest to their authenticity and craftsmanship. The silver has developed a soft, attractive patina.

A rare complete set of twelve, highly decorative and evocative of Vietnamese cultural symbolism.
