Small elongated silver étui decorated in embossed and chased work with neoclassical garlands, ribbons and scrolling foliage, in the Louis XVI style, widely appreciated in 19th-century European decorative arts.
The lid is decorated with two oval medallions showing the profile portraits of Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette, within a symmetrical composition of wreaths and classical ornamental motifs inspired by late 18th-century design.
Interior with traces of original gilding.
Hallmarked on the bottom with three small stamps, the central one showing a crowned fleur-de-lis.
