Bronze with a dark brown/ochre patina – some oxidation – signed and dated '72' on the base; A smiling nude with expressive and vibrant forms. Work by Misaki Kiuchi (1920–2001) – Graduated in 1943 from the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts, sculpture department. He was the son of Masaru Kiuchi and was deeply influenced by his father's art of full forms. He exhibited at the Salon (Shin-Bunten) from 1945. He was a professor at Musashino Art University from the late 1940s. He retired in 1990. He produced almost exclusively female subjects, seeking a formal generosity in the body, thus moving away from classical Art Deco canons. Weight: 7.5 kg.
