Porcelain Biscuit Group, Subject: Goat And Cupids, Statue Of Cherubs, Angels, Putti
A very pretty biscuit porcelain group depicting three Cupids playing with a goat. One of the Cupids rides the goat, the second lies on the ground and holds it by the horns, and the last pulls on a garland of flowers and leaves. The whole is presented on a lovely oval base finely decorated with foliage. This piece is of high quality and displays beautiful finesse of execution. The piece is in very good condition; only three fingertips are missing from the reclining cherub and three tiny chips are missing from the leafy garland (see last photos). These small imperfections are almost inevitable with age on this type of object. It is unsigned. The subject matter strongly resembles the paintings of Piat-Joseph Sauvage (1744-1818). Dimensions: Length: 30 cm, Width: 14 cm, Height: 20 cm. Please contact us for shipping costs.
