Large Louis XV-style Armchair In Walnut, With A Flat “à La Reine” Backrest, 19th Century
A lovely Louis XV-style armchair in solid walnut, from the Napoleon III period, mid-20th century.
It rests on four curved legs, with the two rear legs resting on casters.
The front crossbar of the frame is adorned with a daisy motif surrounded by foliage.
The backrest, known as the “Queen” style, is decorated with a shell-shaped cartouche and floral and plant motifs.
Our chair is presented in “white,” meaning it is ready to be upholstered.
It was first completely restored by a cabinetmaker, who made all necessary reinforcements (custom-made brackets) to ensure its strength and stability.
Our chair was then completely reupholstered by the upholsterer using traditional methods (webbing, springs, horsehair), ensuring a high level of comfort.
Please note that there are some stains on the white fabric; however, this is not an issue since it will be covered by the final upholstery.
