Display Cabinet, Small Bressane Bookcase With 2 Doors, Bresse, Louis XV Style,

A superb small cabinet serving as a bookcase, made of oak and burl ash, from the Bresse region, dating from the early 19th century.
It rests on two straight legs at the back and two curved legs at the front.
It opens at the front with two doors, each consisting of two panels featuring a branching pattern in burl ash and a glass pane at the top. These three elements are set within an oak frame; the crossbars feature a beautiful undulating line that is both supple and elegant. The top of each door is carved with a daisy resting on a stem with lanceolate leaves; the frame of the left door is embellished with a pretty carving featuring Bressan motifs, with the grooves blackened.
The interior is equipped with three adjustable shelves mounted on rails.
The lower crossbar is heavily scalloped and decorated with a half-sphere containing an inverted fan.
