Marcadet, Decorator, Limoges, Porcelain, Hand-painted Decor, Lakeside Scene, Swans, Bernardaud

A magnificent Limoges porcelain vase, signed by Marcadet.
It features an elegant continuous design, entirely hand-painted, depicting swans on a lake at twilight in soft, delicate colors.
The neck is embellished with a fine gold border.
Our porcelain bears the artist’s signature at the bottom of the design; Marcadet was a highly renowned decorator, active from the 1890s through the early 1900s. In 1908, his studio was located at 5 Avenue de Turenne in Limoges.
He was also well-known abroad; notably, he exhibited at the World’s Fair in Chicago in 1893.
Our decorator used white porcelain from the Bernardaud factory in Limoges; the brand name is stamped on the bottom.
