Egyptomania Inkwell Circa 1900
An Egyptomania-style bronze inkwell, formerly silvered, decorated with a canopic jar surmounted by a head wearing a tripartite wig inspired by Egyptian sarcophagi. The body is adorned with two winged scarabs. The central jar rests on a base decorated with oriental arabesques. French work, late 19th – early 20th century. Height: 12 cm. Diameter: 20 cm. (Wear).
