The side panels and front are adorned with religious figures and scenes in relief, enhanced with polychrome on a gold background.
The corners are highlighted with small relief figures, and the whole rests on four feet.
The interior is lined with black paint. This type of object reflects the 19th-century Neo-Medieval style, highly prized during the Second Empire and inspired by the rediscovery of medieval art, particularly under the influence of Viollet-le-Duc. The visible metal fittings have been replaced, and the lock is missing.
