"Rare Hand Candlestick In Gilt Bronze From The Restoration Period"
Rare hand candlestick in gilded and chiseled bronze with surprising decoration of a man's head forming a binet with a movable hat that can form an extinguisher.
This head resting on a chiseled collar like a fraise.
all on a very finely worked base decorated with lightning bolts and cut out with flowery warheads.
this same base resting on three small bronze feet, one of which is slightly different.
the grip is in the shape of a doe erect on a hunting horn.
the gilding is of good quality and the carving is superb.
some traces of old welds at the feet.
an astonishing object, a surprising hand candle holder.
