Important and beautiful gilt bronze Empire period clock signed Charles TERRIEN in Paris, circa 1805, 19th century. Private collection. In perfect condition. Dimensions: h. 50 cm x w. 25 cm x d. 14 cm. Charles TERRIEN, Master clockmaker during the Empire. This clock features symbols of love on the bas-relief, as well as finely chiseled turtledoves and a bouquet of flowers on the upper part. Four basins and bas-reliefs in the form of acanthus leaves on the sides complete the decoration. Openwork acanthus leaves on the lower part of the dial lend a particular elegance to this model. It rests on four feet.
