French School, Landscape With Cows, Oil On Panel, 19th Century

A hilly landscape with cattle, the animals occupying the foreground, while the rest of the composition fades into a beautiful, atmospheric, bluish perspective, reminiscent of the "composed landscapes" inherited from the 17th-century Roman school. Two small architectural elements are located to the right of the composition. A beautiful, dramatic sky is rendered with great luminosity. Some cracks and thinning of the paint layer are documented in the photographs. Presented in a lovely three-sided frame of wood and gilt stucco. Please note that colors appear more muted on Proantic due to circumstances beyond our control. The colors of our objects and paintings are therefore more vibrant in reality.
