Rare Louis XVI Style Gilt Bronze Chandelier, Napoleon III Period, 4 Lights, Late 19th Century
An elegant Louis XVI style chandelier in finely chased and gilded bronze, late 19th century.
It features a refined decoration of acanthus leaves and floral garlands framing a fluted central stem inspired by the Louis XVI neoclassical vocabulary. Four sinuous, richly foliated arms support molded glass shades with floral decoration, complemented by a substantial central flame-shaped element in molded opaline glass, giving the whole an elegant and harmonious silhouette.
The quality of the chasing and the balance of proportions are characteristic of fine French craftsmanship of the late 19th century, faithfully reinterpreting the Louis XVI decorative style.
The chandelier has been fully restored and professionally rewired to current standards. Sold with LED bulbs.
Very good overall condition. The gilding is well preserved, offering a beautiful decorative presence. A refined piece, ideal for a classic, Haussmannian or period interior.
