"Chinese Cinnabar Lacquer "hat" Boxes "
Pair of wooden boxes, lacquered in cinnabar on the outside and lined with black lacquered paper on the inside. Signs of wear consistent with age but no warping. Late Qing Dynasty period, circa 1890-1911. A slight crack, 7cm long, in the bottom of one box. Fully functional.
