Hayashi Tanji "koushi Zennojo Kantokuden" Jo/ge Woodblock Prints

Rare complete edition, volumes 1 and 2 (JO/GE), of the Buddhist tale "Koushi Zennojo Kantokuden," which describes Zennojo's journey through Heaven and Hell. This is an original edition from the late Edo period, circa 1782-1799. The publisher was Sawada Kichizaemon. The author is believed to be Jikio, and the woodblock illustrations were created by Hayashi Tanji. A study of this publication was conducted by the Edo Tokyo Museum. These two volumes are in excellent condition, with no stains, tears, or coloring.
