Japanese Wedding Kimono (ushikake). Silver And Gold Embroidered Silk. Japan Showa Era 1960s.
Artist: Ushikake
Red silk kimono, sumptuous decoration of bouquets of golden ribbons on which are embroidered stylized flowers and cranes in white and silver silk. It is a unique decoration that runs uninterrupted over the entire surface of the Kimono, it is not an assembly of repetitive pieces of fabric assembled as is often the case but a unique creation. The decoration does not stop at the sleeves, but continues on them. Good condition except for the bead serving as ballast at the bottom of the Kimono which is frayed. 195x132cm.
