Haori—men's Black Silk Kimono

Traditional Japanese garment (haori) made of black silk. The garment features circular family crests (kamon) with floral motifs, placed on the back of the neck and on the front of the jacket.

The inside of the jacket features a polychrome woven panel depicting a court scene directly inspired by the Tale of Genji (Genji Monogatari). The composition depicts several figures in Heian-period attire—including dignitaries, a monk, and a court lady—set within a palatial interior. A rack displaying bows and swords is clearly visible in the background. The weaving technique provides a precise rendering of the layered garments and facial expressions.

Condition Report:Antique item sold strictly as-is. The garment shows signs of wear and tear due to its age and use.
