The crescent is centered with a disc decorated with the Koyamada clan mon in maki-e gilt lacquer. Dimensions: 16 x 17.5 cm. Sold with its stand. Dimensions with stand: 16 x 15 x 7 cm. Notes: The Koyamada clan (小山田氏, Koyamada-shi) was a Japanese clan headquartered in the Satsuma Domain. This domain was one of the most powerful during the Edo period and played a major role in the Meiji Restoration and the subsequent Meiji government.
