Important gilt bronze mantel clock, Napoleon III period – 19th century
Large and elegant gilt bronze mantel clock, dating from the Napoleon III period, finely chased and richly decorated with winged female figures, scrolling foliage and neoclassical motifs, characteristic of high-quality French production of the Second Empire.
The clock features a white enamel dial with black Roman numerals and red minute markers, protected by its original domed glass, and fitted with finely pierced hands.
It is powered by a weight-driven mechanical movement with two trains, anchor escapement, striking the hours and half-hours on a bell.
Fully serviced by a professional clockmaker, in perfect working order and guaranteed for one year.
The gilt bronze retains an attractive original finish with an even patina.
