"Small Louis XV Walnut Commode With Marble Top, 18th Century"
A Louis XV commode in solid walnut, early 18th century. The slightly curved front opens to reveal five drawers, highlighted by shaped moldings and fitted with original antique bronze hardware. The sides are constructed of molded panels, and the piece rests on cabriole legs. The top is crowned with its original marble, carved with nuanced veining (peach blossoms). On the back, an old painted "C," corresponding to an old classification or inventory, attests to its domestic use as a bedroom piece.
