A very small Louis XV period secretary desk in light walnut, 18th century, from a former convent. The desk has a flat front with simple, balanced lines. The sides are shaped, and the interior features small shelves and curved drawers. The drop-front reveals a writing surface covered in black leather with a gilt frame. The bronze mounts, keyhole escutcheons, and knobs are original. The writing surface closes with three points. It has a beautiful antique patina and is in excellent condition.
