"Decorative Paris Porcelain Plate – Winged Cupid Design"
A decorative plate in fine porcelain, with hand-painted decoration depicting two winged cherubs in an idealized landscape, an allegorical scene inspired by early 19th-century Neoclassical iconography. One of the figures holds a flaming torch, a traditional symbol of love and passion. The rim is entirely enhanced with rich gilding, finely engraved with a design of stylized foliage, framing the central polychrome scene in soft and harmoniously nuanced tones. The decoration demonstrates meticulous craftsmanship, characteristic of high-quality Parisian productions of this period. The reverse bears an underglaze mark in the form of a blue dot, a workshop or firing mark frequently found on Parisian porcelain from the first half of the 19th century, without the possibility of attributing it to a precisely identified manufacturer. Condition: Good overall condition. Note: wear and slight losses to the circular gilding of the rim, visible in the photographs, consistent with the age and use of the piece. The central decoration is well preserved.
