Vintage 1980s Glazed Terracotta Horse Or Chess Knight Head
Superb large terracotta horse head, reminiscent of a chess knight, hand-modeled and signed JB vintage, dated 1988. Relatively detailed, with a hole through the mouth, perhaps for a Moorish knight of similar size. The glaze appears brown to the naked eye, taking on a khaki hue in the light, and the nose is speckled with light yellow. A very attractive decorative piece, the signature of which remains to be identified, likely unique, from a local ceramic workshop or the work of a ceramic student. 25cm high, 14cm in diameter at the round base, approximately 20cm deep. In very good overall condition, with only a subtle natural crack in the glaze and a small chip at the tip of each ear, very discreet on the left and on the right. Approximately 2kg
